About
Diana Alarid Lockwood, CT
I am a native Spanish speaker, born and raised in Mexico City, and an English-to-Spanish Certified Translator through the American Translators Association (ATA). For more than a decade, I’ve helped organizations and individuals communicate across languages, translating educational, legal, and marketing materials with a particular focus on public health and health literacy.
For me, translation is about more than words—it’s about access, understanding, and connection. I’m passionate about making important information clear, culturally responsive, and meaningful to the people who rely on it, especially when that information affects their health and well-being.
I have also completed specialized training in domestic violence advocacy, with a particular interest in culturally responsive, trauma-informed education and support for victims and survivors in their first language.
Today, I work as a translator with the multilingual services team of a federal public health agency, where I continue to help make vital health information accessible to Spanish-speaking communities.
