Diana Alarid Lockwood, CT
I am a native Spanish speaker born and raised in Mexico City and I am certified by the American Translators Association to translate from English into Spanish. I have over a decade of experience translating educational, legal, and marketing materials. I feel strongly about facilitating patient education through language access, making health literacy my specialty.
I have completed training as an advocate against domestic violence. I believe culturally-responsive, trauma-informed intervention and education should be available to all victims and survivors, especially in their first language.
I currently work as a language specialist alongside the Multilingual Services Team of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as the administrator for the Northern California Translators Association, and as an ESL instructor for the Santa Clara County Library District.
